Event Details

This #LTSAT Support group is for people who are experiencing distortions* in their sense of smell / taste, and those who support them, whatever the cause or whether it has been diagnosed.

This is a free online event hosted by Fifth Sense & Fifth Sense volunteer co-hosts.

*Medics may refer to a distorted sense of smell as parosmia, to smelling things that aren't there as phantosmia, and to a heighted sense of smell as hyperosmia.  They may refer to a disturbed sense of taste as parageusia or dysgeusia.

The event will provide those affected, and anyone supporting an adult or child who is affected, with an open, supportive and relaxed environment to learn more and share their thoughts and feelings about living with smell and / or taste disturbances.

Please note: We also host events for people who have never had a sense of smell, and for those who have lost their sense of smell. If you are unsure whether or not this is the right event for you, please watch these short videos on our YouTube channel:

Professor Carl Philpott explains: Parosmia and Phantosmia

Professor Carl Philpott explains: Hyperosmia or Olfactory Sensitivity

Professor Carl Philpott explains: The 'Osmias'.
